Surgeons in Hampton Roads now have access to the latest advancements in minimally invasive surgery with the addition of a state-of-the-art robotic surgical system for the minimally invasive surgery program at DePaul Medical Center.
For our patients, minimally invasive robotic surgery techniques can mean less pain, discomfort, blood loss, and a quicker return to normal activities. New advancements also mean that patients and physicians have a variety of alternatives to convention, open surgery — including the robotic-assisted daVinci Surgical System.

The daVinci prostatectomy (dVP) represents the fastest growing treatment for prostate cancer, because of advantages that include shorter hospital stay, less risk of infection, less blood loss and transfusions, less scarring, and a lower incidence of impotence and urinary incontinence.
Gynecology and Gynecology Oncology
More complex surgeries such as endometrial cancer staging and radical hysterectomy may soon be done using the robot.
